A Quest to make Everlasting Changes
The 12th day of the campaign was about visiting Muthorjipeta and Ippalathanda villages in Narsampet mandal.
In the first village, Shravya met the sarpanch and was briefed with problems related to the village especially the issue of Gudumba (local liquor). There were many women from self help groups (SHGs) and their biggest concern was non-availability of loans or any support from the government. They were very disappointed even though they had skills in tailoring and in some crafts.
The second village Ippalathanda was also facing difficult situations. Many girls lost husbands and many of them were married off at very young age. They had kids and also were facing lot of financial problems.
Shravya assured them that “We and She” would support them in their financial empowerment. People were stressed a lot because of finances and also because of their standard of livingand well-being. Some women came forward and expressed their problems. Shravya informed them of arranging a health camp in future. The rural areas were suffering a lot inspite of advancement in technology and it was a matter of concern.
